First day of Ramadan 2024 fast:  Monday, March 11, 2024

Declaring intention to fast at dawn time, the day before, or just prior to Fajr prayers:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ

Bismillah Arrahman Arraheem. Nawaytu Siamu Ramadan

Say: "In the name of Allah the all-merciful, the all-compassionate. I declare my intention to observe the fasting the month of Ramadan, as a believer, in accordance with Sunnah traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be onto him.   Oh, Allah, make it easy on me and accept it from me." Ameen.

When ready to break the fast at sunset:

"Dua - 1

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

Dhahaba al-zama’ wa abtalat al-‘urooq wa thabata al-ajr in sha Allaah

Thirst is gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is certain if Allaah wills.

For Breaking Fast - Iftar Dua - 2

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ

Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa ala rizq-ika-aftartu

"O Allah! For You I have fasted and from your blessings I have broken my fast."

Facts about Ramadan:
